Our Services at a Glance
Before any repair, overhaul, refinement or other service, I have a detailed consultation in order to understand the exact concerns of my customers and, based on this, to discuss the technical effort required.
The result is a well-founded cost estimate and a corresponding time window for the order. When the finished instrument is picked up, the scope of work and any special items are listed and explained. Each instrument also receives a checkbook.

The consultation begins with the choice of instruments, goes through repair alternatives, mouthpieces, oils and greases, accessories and more and is rounded off with the selection of a suitable instrument case. A large number of care products and accessories are offered in the store and in the online shop. The range of consulting services is very extensive and varied, because it is part of my business philosophy to be a competent contact person for my customers around the instruments and their music.

During technical maintenance, the instrument is completely dismantled and all essential components are cleaned in a special bath. The valves and valve sleeves are also manually degreased, cleaned and re-oiled and inserted into the machine. After cleaning, all slides are polished, greased and reintegrated into the instrument. The renewal of the horseshoe rubbers, water key springs and corks are standard. Finally, the instrument is treated with a lacquer care product and the mouthpiece is polished up after cleaning.

The valves of your instrument wear out and the bearings knock out as a result of playing, saliva and calcium deposits. When overhauling rotary valves, the bearings of the valves are cleaned and drawn in, the vertical and lateral play is eliminated, and the valves are completely re-ground in the valve sleeve. When overhauling perinet valves – if necessary – the bushing is honed and the valves (replacement) are lapped by hand. A valve overhaul is only ever carried out in conjunction with a previous technical maintenance of the instrument.

In the course of the dent removal work, dents, dents and other metal damage are removed from the bell, body, leadpipe, toy or valve loops. With various special tools such as sickles, magnetic balls, cones, hammers and rods, even the most severe fall damage can be removed. Likewise, affected soldering points are revised and completely re-soldered.

Each pusher – whether valve or trigger pusher – can be individually adapted and converted to the player's hand. Triggers can also be added afterwards, and the trigger can be installed in the ideal playing position. The subsequent installation of mini ball joints reduces the pusher noises, improves the ease of movement and the response of the pusher system and increases the playability of the instrument. Fashionable inlays in the valve pushers are available in many colors and give the instrument a particularly individual character.

Each instrument can be optically individualized with additional equipment features. Instruments – or individual instrument parts – can be gold-plated or silver-plated, they can be painted in color, given a vintage design or refined with a glass-bead-blasted finish – every wish for something special is fulfilled. Engravings, gemstones, colored pusher plates and more can also be added later. There are many ways to customize the instrument and make it an eye-catcher.

During the general overhaul, the entire instrument is first stripped of paint. Optical defects such as dents, scrapes, scratches or open soldering points are carefully worked up. The valves are completely and precisely overhauled, ground in and reintegrated into the machine with an absolutely precise fit. Then the instrument with all its components is polished to a high gloss. If desired, it can also be provided with a clear coat. As a result, the instrument looks like new, both technically and visually.

Dealing with the filigree instrument as well as playing it leads to leaks in the keys and imprecise movements of the key mechanism. During the repair, the tightness of each valve is checked with special tools and corrected and restored accordingly. If necessary, the flap cushions are replaced with original cushions from the instrument manufacturer. Another essential part of the repair is the replacement of faulty and damaged springs and corks. The flap mechanism is also meticulously checked, straightened, adjusted and fixed. Finally the instrument is played and finished.
